This means hiring the right people for each job in the organization. It starts with recruitment. Recruitment is simply the process of attracting the right people to apply for jobs in an organization. It can be done externally by recruiting candidates who are not part of the organization or internally by promoting existing employees into new positions within the organization. Other important staffing decisions include promoting employees, analysing turnover, downsizing staff, redesigning jobs, and terminating employees. Promoting employees involves moving an existing employee to a new position, generally with more responsibility and higher pay. Downsizing is the planned elimination of jobs in an organization, often motivated by saving money on salaries and benefits. Job redesign is a restructuring of the tasks involved in a job to enhance the job, satisfaction and/or productivity. (2) Do not speak in an affected style. (3) Do not try to unnecessary elaborate your answer. (4) Do not interrupt the interviewers. (5) Do not enter into an argument with the interviewers. (6) If somehow you miss to listen a question you can request the interviewer to repeat it. Never answer a question until you have listened it well. (7) Do not hesitate in answering questions. (8) Do not show ill manners. (9) Do not be shabbily or gaudily dressed. (10) Do not look gloomy. (11) Do not talk more than what is needed. (12) Do not boast. This presentation will provide some background on employment with the NWS, including basic information on salary, benefits, and ethnic/gender/educational diversity within the agency. We will step through the application process, highlighting important details that prospective employees may be unaware of or overlook. Finally, using data from "mass" intern bids in 2014 and 2016, we will provide generic information on what the selectees had in their backgrounds that made them successful, as well as provide some tips and ideas for applicants to improve their prospects.
